I have worked for the YMCA for over 15 years in many different roles from frontline to Program Director to Executive Director where I’ve served the past 9 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Purdue University. I was born and raised in Whitley County, and I take great pride in our ability to work alongside our neighbors and community. I reside in Whitley County with my husband, Chad, and two daughters Gabby and Isabel. In my spare time, I love to exercise, decorate, and travel!
I have worked at the ELC since 2013. Prior to this, I was a stay-at-home mother to my 3 children for 17 years. During that time I also helped run my husband’s veterinary clinic. Before having children, I taught 1st grade. I love watching the children learn new things. The excitement on their face is awesome when they do something new for first time independently. I have 3 children. My oldest is a senior at Ball State majoring in nursing; my son is a junior at CCHS; and my daughter is a sophomore at CCHS. My husband is a veterinarian who only takes care of horses. My youngest daughter shows horses on a national level so most weekends we are at a horse show or the barn. During my free time I enjoy spending time with my family.
Professionally I have worked in childcare for 16 years. However, I have been working with children a majority of my life. As a young adult, I assisted my parents with our children’s ministry at church and camps. I have grown a lot through my work with children. The best part of my job is building relationships with the children and their parents. I love seeing the children’s creativity and personality blossom. Some of my hobbies are bike riding and singing. I also love to spend time with my two boys (who give me gray hair) but keep me young at heart!
For 8+ years I worked with adults who were mentally/physically disabled in a group home setting. While this is my first job in a childcare setting, I have two children of my own who I have had the pleasure staying at home with. I enjoy watching the children grow mentally and physically, along with developing their own personalities and learning how to build relationships with their classmates and teachers. It’s truly amazing to watch! Some of my hobbies include Zumba, yoga, volunteering at my children’s school and spending quality time at home with my husband of 10 years and our two children.
